"HORSE HERO" Contest

Win a Free Trip to the 2026 Defender Burghley Horse Trials!

To enter the contest is easy, simply use the form below to tell us why your horse should be considered a Hero (maximum 500 words). Our relationships with our equine partners are so meaningful and many of us have found them to enrich and change our lives in ways we never dreamed possible. We'd like to hear about it!

Entries must be submitted not later than 11:59pm PST on Sunday, March 15, 2026.*

The winning submission will be chosen by a judging panel comprised of Jessica Phoenix (CAN), Monica Spencer (NZ), Simon Grieve (GBR), Sally Spickard (Eventing Nation) and Greg Paull.

The winner will be announced via EVENTING NATION on April 1, 2026.

The winning entrant will receive:

  • The complete 2026 Burghley Horse Trials Package offered by Five Star Eventing Tours valued at $8995.00 USD, plus roundtrip airfare up to a maximum of $1000.00 USD.

  • Additionally, a travelling companion of the winner (with shared accommodation) could receive up to 25% off the price of the 2026 Burghley Package.

"HORSE HERO" Contest Terms & Conditions

  1. I am 18 years of age and older as of August 1st, 2026.

  2. I have a Valid Passport for at least six months beyond September 2026.

  3. I am legally able to travel to the United Kingdom and will be responsible for all Travel Visa requirements.

  4. I agree that Five Star Eventing Tours and/or Eventing Nation have the ability to validate my identity and I am able to provide equestrian character references if requested.

  5. I agree to all of the same terms and conditions as any guest attending a Five Star Eventing Tour (including liability waivers and insurance) and have reviewed the details on the Travel Info page.

  6. I agree to the winner’s name and a portion of their submission being published as appropriate by Five Star Eventing Tours and / or Eventing Nation on relevant media and social channels.

  7. I agree that the submissions will be judged subjectively and that the judging panel’s decision is final.

  8. I agree that this winning package is not transferrable and only applies to the person who made the submission.

  9. I will be responsible for my own travel arrangements to the United Kingdom as appropriate and that up to $1000 USD will be remitted by Five Star Eventing Tours with a valid ticket receipt.

  10. Only one submission per person is allowed.
